Private interior: Prague Dejvice

Interior design, Creative direction

Challenge

A couple of young professionals approached me when they bought a flat from the first half of the 20th century in the center of Prague (Dejvice quarter) where a complete renovation was needed. An original layout was not really suitable for contemporary living, therefore quite significant alterations were necessary.

+ Made with Plad (construction), Truhlarna Ústí (furniture maker), Tomáš Lumpe (photographer)

Solution

In close cooperation with the clients and the construction company (Plad) I reworked the floor plans and the whole apartment was stripped down while the particular features of the building era were carefully preserved. Where preservation was no longer possible meticulous replicas were made. The clients are a dynamic couple, whose busy lifestyle requires no-hassle, bespoke storage space. The textiles and accessories used recall their extensive travels.
